Mitchell Marsh highlights great rivalry with India
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh believes that the upcoming ODI series against India will serve as the ideal preparation for the highly anticipated Ashes series later this year. Australia is set to host India for a three-match ODI series starting October 19, followed by a five-match T20I series. With regular ODI skipper Pat Cummins sidelined due to a back injury, Marsh will lead the side in what promises to be a high-intensity clash between Australia and India.
"We'll have all the guys building towards the Ashes but everyone loves playing against India," Marsh was quoted as saying by foxSports.
Marsh emphasised the importance of facing India in home conditions, highlighting the intensity and great rivalry between both teams.
"We’ve got a great rivalry and great respect for them as a team. I think it’s literally perfect timing to be playing against India in the lead-up to an Ashes series. It’s going to be massive,” Marsh added.
Meanwhile, Indian star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also set to make their much-anticipated return to the national side for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. This marks the first time the iconic duo will don the Indian jersey since their last appearance at the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.
