India have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during their Women's World Cup match against Australia on October 12. According to ICC, they have been fined five per cent of the match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate. India were found to be one over short of their target after time allowances were taken into account.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five percent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl within the stipulated time.

The sanctions were imposed by Michell Periera of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur pled guilty to the charges; hence, there was no need for a formal hearing. Meanwhile, defending champions Australia beat India by 3 wickets to maintain their winning run.
