Naseem Shah to stay with Pakistan squad despite firing at family residence

Pakistan’s young pacer Naseem Shah’s family residence in Mayar, Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was targeted by unknown assailants in the early hours of Monday. As per reports, a group of gunmen opened fire at the main gate of the house, leaving visible bullet holes and damaging a parked vehicle. Reportedly, no one at the residence was injured in the attack.

Despite the incident, Naseem Shah, according to ESPNcricinfo, will remain with the Pakistan squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting in Rawalpindi from November 11. The second and third ODIs will be played on November 13 and 15, respectively, at the same venue. Pakistan are heading into the series against Sri Lanka on the back of a 2-1 series win over South Africa in the recently concluded three-match ODI series.
