Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur is known to chip in with crucial breakthroughs for the team at crucial junctures with his skilful all-round performance. Time and again, Thakur has proven his worth with his brilliant performances. India have added Shardul Thakur into their World Cup squad as his terrific skills against opposition teams will be a great asset for the team India. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has expressed that Shardul Thakur could be a concern for India. Robin Uthappa played alongside Shardul Thakur in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings. Uthappa has stated that Shardul Thakur is a wicket-taking bowler but he needs to control leaking runs while maintaining economy.

“Shardul Thakur could be a concern for team India. Yes, he picks up wickets and is a high-quality bowler, but he leaks a lot of runs. He can be very expensive. That’s something that he will have to pay attention to,” said Uthappa on his YouTube channel.

“He is someone who is always going to take wickets, but when he doesn’t take wickets, he ends up looking a little expensive. In CSK, we used to fondly call him the golden arm. I am certain that his role will be very similar for the Indian team,” he said.
