Bumrah equals legendary Kapil Dev’s massive record with fifer against England

India’s tearaway pacer Jasprit Bumrah has equalled legendary Kapil Dev's record for the most Test fifers by an Indian bowler outside India. Bumrah claimed his 12th five-wicket haul during England’s first innings of the ongoing first Test match between India and England in Leeds. He returned with the figures of 5-83, equalling Kapil Dev, who tops the list with 12 five-wicket hauls in away Tests. 

Anil Kumble has 10, while Ishant Sharma has 9 five-wicket hauls in away Tests. Bumrah reached the landmark achievement in 34 Test matches, whereas Kapil Dev did it in 66 matches. He nabbed the crucial wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue. Currently, India have a lead of 96 runs as they aim to extend their dominance over England.
