World Cup 2023: Netherlands beat Bangladesh for their consecutive World Cup victory

Netherlands beat Bangladesh by (87) runs on Saturday at Eden Gardens to register their second consecutive win of the ongoing ODI World Cup. It was again a flopped show from Bangladesh who were all out for (142) in their chase of 230-run target. Having decided to bat, Netherlands lost their openers in a quick succession but Scott Edward's 68-run knock set the platform for Netherlands' good time as they were successful in putting up a fighting total. Wesley Barresi too chipped in with a major 41-run knock. Chasing the total, Bangladesh's top-order batting line up succumbed to Netherlands' brilliant bowling attack led by Paul van Meekran who returned with four wickets. There was some fightback from Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah but Netherlands winded up Bangladesh for (142) to register an assertive win. With this win, Netherlands move one place up from the bottom in the points table.
