ACB delays NOCs of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi and and Naveen Ul Haq

Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided not to grant NOC (No Objection Certificate) to its players Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen Ul Haq after they came under attack for putting their personal interest first over national committments. As per Afghanistan Cricket Board, all three players had approached the board to release them from Central Contract. These players have actively been involved in T20 Leagues around the World. They play in IPL, Big Bash League among others. With their NOCs being delayed, their participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League is under serious threat.
“The insistence on not signing the central contract for these players was their involvement in commercial leagues, prioritising their personal interests over playing for Afghanistan, which is regarded as a national responsibility. By opting for their release, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to take disciplinary measures against these players,” The ACB said in a statement.
“The decision by the Afghanistan Cricket Board is made with a focus on National priorities, aligned with the ACB’s core values and principles. It highlights the necessity for every player to maintain the ACB’s principles and prioritise the country’s interests above their personal ones.”
