News

India’s wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson’s journey with team India has been noting sort of a rollercoaster ride as one of the popular cricketers has been met with frequent fluctuations in his career with team India. He has remained in and out of the team, witnessing ebbs and flows in his career. Samson most recently played for India in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

Samson is now gearing up to lead his franchise team Rajasthan Royals at the Indian Premier League 2024 that is scheduled to get underway from 22nd March. Samson will have a huge task to deliver with stellar performances in the IPL in his bid to consolidate his prospects of playing at the T20I World Cup for India. Recently, Sanju Samson was asked about his experience while playing for India.

"When you are playing cricket in the world's best country... India is no.1 in the world... the number of players, the number of talent, and the competitions we have... a guy from Kerala. If he has to come and cement his place in the national side, he has to do something special," Samson told Star Sports on their show ‘Star Nahi Far’2.

Sanju Samson has always maintained his aggressive brand of batting whether he’s playing for team India or his IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. Samson always looks forward to committing himself to improving.

"I always wanted to stand out with the way I bat... create my own style. No matter if it's the first ball, I wanted to go out there and hit a six. That was the shift in the mindset. I wanted to do something different. Why do we have to wait for ten balls to hit a six? That was the motive behind the development of my power-hitting."
