T20I WC 2024: Australia confirm their squad, Marsh to lead

Australia have revealed their T20I World Cup squad, with Mitchell Marsh entrusted to lead the team. Marsh has led the team in the shortest format in the past in the absence of Pat Cummins, but he has now been officially appointed skipper of the team. Veteran Steve Smith, who was eying a spot in Australia’s World Cup campaign, has been omitted from the squad.

Meanwhile, young Cameron Green has been picked up alongside Ashton Agar, who had been on the sidelines nursing an injury. Matthew Wade has secured a spot. Australia’s middle order has been solidified with the names of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Tim David

Travis Head and David Warner, along with Marsh are the powerful options for Australia at the top of the order. Pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been added to the squad. Spin attack includes the likes of Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar
