Eng vs Pak 4th T20I: Buttler, Salt on song as England clinch series 2-0

In a glittering victory for England over Pakistan in the fourth and final T20I on Thursday at The Oval, Phil Salt hammered (45) to help England secure a seven-wicket victory to clinch the series 2-0. It comes just a day ahead of the start of the T20I World Cup 2024 as England gear up to defend their title. A complete all-round performance from England turned out to be a big task for Pakistan.
Put into bat, Pakistan started well, with openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scoring (23) and (36) respectively. And Usman Khan hit (38), but leaving aside three of these batters, no one else could contribute to Pakistan’s scoring as their remaining wickets fell at regular intervals. England bowlers managed to stifle Pakistan for (157) in (19.3) overs after Adil Rashid, Mark Wood and Liam Livingstone claimed two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 158, England's response was nothing short of spectacular. Openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt set the tone with an explosive start, putting the Pakistani bowlers on the back foot from the outset. Buttler (45) and Salt (39) came together for a 82-run stand to keep the team on top. Will Jacks made (20) before being targeted by Haris Rauf, while Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook remained unbeaten on (28) and (17) respectively to carry the side home. First and second game of the series were abandoned due to rain.
