The intensity at the ongoing T20I World Cup 2024 has gone to the next level as we head into the Super Eight stage of the tournament. Campaigning is heating up as all of the eight teams are hoping to impose their dominance early on in the innings. The first encounter in the Super Eight stage will see South Africa and USA face off against each other on Wednesday at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. This match promises to be a high-octane affair, with South Africa entering the game on an unbeaten streak.

South Africa have been nothing short of extraordinary in their performance so far, having recorded four hard-fought victories in their last four games during the group stage. Despite playing on challenging pitches, South Africa remained determined in their performance. Key players like Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Kagiso Rabada have been instrumental in South Africa's success. South Africa’s explosive batting at the top of the order has set the tone in several matches and would be expected to continue with the same zeal. Their lethal bowling attack led by Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Keshav Maharaj has been quite vicious.

On the other side, USA are gearing up for what is undoubtedly their biggest challenge yet. However, they have produced stunning performances and on the back of those victories they have found their place in the Super Eights. They began their campaign with an uplifting victory against Canada and challenged Pakistan securing a hard-fought five-run victory against men in green. Their journey to the Super Eight stage has been marked by determination, relentless consistency and collective efforts.

Head to Head

This will be the first international face-off between both teams as they have never crossed their paths.

SA Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (c), Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ottneil Baartman, Tabraiz Shamsi
