Australia’s squad for the Women’s Ashes series has been unveiled, but not without some significant challenges. Allrounder Sophie Molineux, a key figure in the team’s bowling and batting departments, has been ruled out due to a knee injury. Adding further uncertainty is the role of skipper Alyssa Healy, it is unclear whether she will keep the wickets or not.

Molineux's absence is a big blow to Australia's spin department. The left-arm spinner and handy middle-order batter has been sidelined with a knee injury that will require surgery. Georgia Voll has been included into Australia's ODI squad while Grace Harris will return to T20Is. Overall, Australia have named a strong and experienced squad for the Ashes

"Sophie Molineux will undergo left knee surgery next month, following that we will provide further updates on an anticipated return date," team physiotherapist Kate Beerworth said.

Australia ODI and T20I squad for Women's Ashes: Alyssa Healy (capt), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris (T20s only), Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Voll, Georgia Wareham
