Pakistan are in serious trouble after crashing to a 60-run defeat against New Zealand in their Champions Trophy group stage match on Wednesday in Karachi. Chasing a huge target of 321 runs, Pakistan’s batting lineup faltered under pressure, eventually being bowled out for 260.

Even the likes of reliable performers such as Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan couldn’t perform at all. In the wake of Pakistan’s defeat, there has been enormous amount of criticism against the players as they failed to live up to the expectations. Looking at Pakistan performance, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan said that Pakistan are having lots of problems.

"When it comes to Pakistan, look, they have plenty of problems in the team," Pathan told PTI.

"As far as some of the senior guys (are concerned), they don't play that kind of aggressive modern-day cricket, especially in white-ball cricket. So, can they change it? It's very difficult," Pathan stated.

Pakistan are now gearing up to face bitter rivals India in their next encounter, which is to be played on Sunday in Dubai. Pathan feels that India are in a stronger position to tackle any situation.

“What we have seen in the recent past with the Indian team, we know how to handle a tough situation and the big occasion as well. As far as the talent is concerned, we are far ahead, especially in one-day cricket,” he said.
