India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy delivered a match-winning performance in the final group stage match of the ongoing Champions Trophy. His five-wicket haul played a pivotal role in India's comprehensive victory over New Zealand, sealing their top place in the knockout stages of the tournament. But it wasn’t just the wickets that grabbed headlines – Chakravarthy’s enigmatic style of bowling has made him one of the most exciting players for India. During the press conference after the match, Chakaravarthy was asked about his variations and he didn’t reveal much.

"Sir, basically the ball goes inside, outside and goes straight. So, you can keep it that way but there are minor changes that you can do with that also,” Varun said during the press conference.

Varun Chakravarthy also touched upon as to how he adapted to the 50-over cricket, having played a lot of T20 cricket previously.

"In T20, my sequencing of balls - as in how I construct an over  is totally different compared to the 50-over format. And that I was able to figure out when I played the last two years in Vijay Hazare Trophy. And it really helped me to understand when I can bowl my incoming delivery or outgoing delivery or the straighter one or the top spin - whatever it is. But that gave me a sense of awareness of when to bowl what. It is completely different from what I do in the T20," he said.

Recently, Varun Chakravarthy also rose to the occasion and delivered extraordinary performances during India’s white-ball series against England, which was played just ahead of the Champions Trophy.
