On the third day of the fourth Test between England and India at Old Trafford, Manchester, Joe Root achieved a historic milestone—he eclipsed Ricky Ponting to become the second-highest run-scorer in the history of Test cricket, trailing only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar

Joe Root smashing 150 reached the key threshold of 13,379 runs, eclipsing Ricky Ponting’s tally of 13,378. With the innings of 150, Root brought up his 38th Test century, equalling Kumar Sangakkara’s milestone for most hundreds in Test cricket.
