Ahead of the upcoming fourth edition of the SA20, Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) have re-signed Kane Williamson, who is set to replace Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam in their squad for the 2025-26 season. Taijul Islam was acquired by DSG at the September mega-auction for R500,000 (approximately US$28,858) but is now reported to be unavailable for the upcoming SA20 season, prompting the franchise to bring Williamson back.

Williamson represented DSG in the previous season, scoring 233 runs in eight matches at an average of 46.60 and a strike rate of about 118.87. However, he was released at the end of the campaign. Notably, Williamson has announced his retirement from T20Is, but he continues to play T20 leagues.

In his T20I career, Williamson scored 2,575 runs in 93 matches at an average of 33.4 and a strike rate of 123.1. He also slammed 18 half-centuries.
