SA vs IND 2nd ODI: Tony de Zorzi smashes century in SA’s convincing 8-wicket win

South Africa registered a convincing 8-wicket win over India in the second ODI match of the three-match series on Tuesday to level the series 1-1. Tony de Zorzi’s composed knock of (119) unbeaten guided the team to the series-levelling win. South African openers de Zorzi and Reeza Hendricks showcased thrilling skills to set the tone for team’s win. South Africa chased down the total of (211) in (42.3) overs after they scored (215) for the loss of two wickets. There was a good competition from both sides but ultimately it was the Proteas who dominated with exceptional batting and bowling displays. Earlier, put into bat, India were bowled out for (211) where KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan scored (56) and (62) respectively to take the team to a modest total. For South Africa, Nandre Burger had remained quite economical with his three wickets while Keshav Maharaj and Beuran Hendricks claimed two wickets each. With this win, South Africa have successfully levelled the series 1-1. South Africa approached the run chase with confidence. Openers de Zorzi and Reeza Hendricks laid a solid foundation, showcasing a blend of composure and sensible shot selection. Their partnership alleviated any early jitters, setting the stage for a smooth chase, however they had struggled at the start but got themselves into the groove.
